With Halloween almost upon us and this year marking the 35th anniversary of the original Ghostbusters, I thought it'd be appropriate I review This Ain't Ghostbusters XXX from my own personal collection.

This Ain't Ghostbusters XXX originally came in a fantastic slipcover 3D Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with 2 discs and 4 total versions of the movie:

1) 3D Blu-ray
2) Standard Blu-ray
3) Standard DVD
4) Anaglyph 3D DVD (with the red & white glasses)

Being that 3D Blu-ray is dead and anaglyph 3D is a pain to watch for long periods,  I watched the standard 2D Blu-ray for the purposes of this review. Unfortunately this Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack is out of print, the package also contained:

Ghostbusters is a landmark horror comedy from 1984 starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis as college professors investigating paranormal activity in New York. Let go by Columbia University after their latest investigation in a library for lack of evidence. The trio start up their own business Ghostbusters to investigate the paranormal and capture ghosts like exterminators. When the New York is threatened by powerful supernatural god Gozer the Gozarian, the Ghostbusters must spring into action to save the day. The film spawned a huge franchise, with 2 cartoon series, a 1989 sequel, multiple video games, and a 2016 reboot. 

I hadn’t seen Ghostbusters in ages so I rewatched the film (and played some of the 2009 video game) so I could effectively judge how well the parody spoofs the original. From memory I know the parody plays out more like a highlight reel of key events from the film as apposed to a cohesive narrative. Let's get right down to it

Scene 1 Peter Venkman & College Student (Lily Labeau & Evan Stone) 

Rating 8/10

The opening of the movie starts with librarian Ron Jeremy shelving books, when he encounters the Library ghost & screams. Having Ron Jeremy in a cameo is a nice nod to the original, and a thoughtful casting choice given Ron appeared as an extra in the original Ghostbusters. 

Moving into the 1st scene we see Dr. Venkman testing college students with flash cards to see if they're psychic. As in the original, Dr. Venkman favours the cute blonde student (Lily Labeau) giving her that her answers to what's on the cards is right even though she's dead wrong. 

In the original, Ray ran into the room & informed Peter of the Library ghost before he had a chance to seal the deal with this cute co-ed. 

Now this being a porn parody, we get to see Venkman & the college student hook up.

The Ghostbusters get to the floor, as Ray worries that the equipment hasn’t been tested. Peter encounters Slimer just like in the original, and who slimes him and disappears as Egon gets a signal on his XXX meter. Directing the trio to Slimer, who’s jerking off! The CGI effects for him very impressive.

The trio then use their proton streams to trap him remembering the golden rule of never crossing the streams and Slimer is successfully captured in the trap. 

Peter then asks why Egon says never to cross the streams to which he replies he doesn’t know maybe its due to his fear of public urinals. A clever twist to all the science jargon in the original as to why crossing the streams is bad.

Alec does a good job as Ray not given too much material but reminding me of neurotic Ray from the movie.

James Deen looked eerily close to Harold Ramis’ Egon this being a parody he wasn’t given a chance to indulge us in scientific jargon like the original, but carried himself as the straight man of the group well.

Jeremy Conway nailed Louis Tully sounding close to Rick Moranis & getting his awkward mannerisms down, I admired his dedication to the character & how he came completely in character which can be difficult, hearing him cum was hysterical.

Rounding out the guys, Tee Reel delivers his line well, in his brief appearance before the final scene of the movie and finally Ron Jeremy in a non-speaking cameo starts the movie off right.

Lily Labeau nailed the whole innocent college girl look in her small role 

Alexis Texas the biggest name in this parody, had small part as the library ghost having no dialogue & jumping straight to the sex, she looked the part and the visual effects when the trio initially meet her were impressive. 

Raven Alexis had a substantial dual role as Dana & Dana possessed by Zuul. She acted very well, looking like Sigourney Weaver having obviously studied her performance from the original 

Sarah Shevon looked like Janine & even did the New York accent the entire time like Annie Potts in the original which was true dedication to the role. She looked the part & having a glasses fetish I loved how she kept her frames on the entire scene.

Rounding out the women Joslyn James as Stay Puft replacement 50s MILF monster acted sweet & innocent but can’t help feeling she was miscast for this role given that Joslyn has tattoos & enhanced tits, an all natural MILF performer would’ve been a better choice but in this role Joslyn acted well & wholesome and did her best. 

Visual Effects: 
Wanted to give special mention to mention the visual effects since there were plenty. The effects were EXTREMELY impressive for a modern adult film, knowing this movie had a small budget the effects are top notch. They were all CGI and looked fantastic Slimer, the proton streams, and the Keymaster & Gatekeeper

Sex: 
Sexually the film was outstanding. The ladies give great performances all around. 

Raven Alexis performing the best as I truly believed she was possessed & hadn’t been fucked in ages very energetic, eager to get naked & fucked fantastic & this was the scene that was the most arousing for me

Alexis did fine as the Library Ghost but it was nothing spectacular, her makeup was well done with face paint & glitter giving her a ghostly vibe and it does focus on her most famous asset her ass, but this is a mediocre scene of hers as she was wearing too many clothes and wasn’t as vocal as I would’ve liked 

Alexis Texas being the biggest star of the movie you would think bring us the strongest scene but it was actually Raven Alexis who I felt really brought it to this movie delivering the strongest scene of the whole movie.

My major gripe with the sex scenes was all the female performers with the exception of Raven were wearing most of their outfit for the entire scene.

Performers having articles of clothing wrapped around their bodies in scenes is my biggest pet peeve of mine but the performances were mostly strong enough that I was able to generally look past it. 

Final Thoughts 

This Ain’t Ghostbusters XXX is an exemplary parody, one that is truly done right by the source material. Axel Braun truly takes pride in adapting mainstream properties that he's a fan of himseelf and his dedication to the source material is on full display. The story does jump from major even to major event without much context that could confuse anyone not familiar with Ghostbusters but to the initiated, the plot does follow the memorable beats of the original. 

The sex for the most part is good, performances were energetic, the cast stayed in character & there was a lot of passion. The strongest 3 scenes being Raven’s, Lily’s and Sarah’s the weakest being Alexis’ due to her keeping most of her clothes on & not being passionate enough for my liking and Joslyn’s due to the distracting white light in the background & her overall look not suiting her character.

Overall I highly recommend This Ain't Ghostbusters XXX the cast does a fantastic job replicating the magic of the original, the special effects are top notch and most of sex is scorching hot.
